The University Museum System partecipates ti AMIR, a special project of the Estate Fiorentina 2019

Visits to the Boboli Gardens, the Botanical Gardens, the Archeological Area in Fiesole and the Primo Conti Garden, Fiesole.

Amir | Accoglienza Musei Inclusione Relazione (welcome museums inclusion relationship) is an experimental project (the name in Arabic means ‘young prince’) launched last year and still in progress, by a network of local museums, aimed at offering cultural mediation activities conducted by foreign citizens. On the occasion of the Florentine Summer, from Sunday 16 June to Thursday 31 October 2019, the project proposes a series of free visits to the Boboli Gardens, the Botanical Gardens, the Archaeological Area of Fiesole and the Garden of the Primo Conti Foundation in Fiesole, accompanied by 18 foreign mediators including Afghans, Tunisians, Egyptians, Malians, Gambians, Moroccans, Cameroonians, Colombians, Nigerians, Venezuelans, Senegalese, Ivorians, Peruvians, Ghanaians, Romanians, Guineans, Pakistanis, Chinese.

Together with Amir mediators visitors will be able to explore the botanical and cultural diversity that has made the gardens laboratories where plant and artistic forms that come from other climates and from other cultures have always reproduced and crossed.

The project is realized with the contribution of the Municipality of Florence | Estate Fiorentina 2019, and the participation of the Uffizi Gallery, the University of Florence Museum System, the Municipality of Fiesole, the Primo Conti Foundation.
